Our Story

The Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame (BMEWOF) is a first of

its kind joint initiative by the Black American Music Association (BAM), a professional trade organization and its 501c3 non-profit organization:

The Black American Music Foundation. Known as the “Capital of the South,” Atlanta has long been the mecca of black music and entertainment. The BMEWOF is a key iconic attraction to showcase the industry’s greatest contributors. With both a national and international appeal, the BMEWOF honors iconic individuals and organizations that have impacted black culture, community, and entertainment alongside those who continue to lead us into the future.

The BMEWOF is located in the historic Vine City area of Atlanta, birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The “Crown Jewel of Excellence” emblems are installed on M.L.K. Jr. Drive & Northside Drive, adjacent to the Mercedes Benz Stadium (official stadium of the NFL Atlanta Falcons and MLS Atlanta United).
